Which technologies does the appliance use? The StarOffice Server - PDF Converter is an extension for StarOffice that provides the conversion of various file formats and the creation of PDF files. It is implemented as a Java web service and can be deployed on any J2EE server (e.g. Sun Application server, Apache TomCat). An installed JRE or JDK 1.5 is required on the server as well as a supported platform for StarOffice (Windows 2000/XP/2003, Linux x86 and Solaris OS SPARC Edition or x86). These components make up the StarOffice Server - PDF Converter. Depending on the type of appliance all components are available for immediate use (“Ready to run Appliance”) or can be individually installed according to your needs (“Configuration package”).
